Richard Edge JP, CA

Director

Richard became a partner in 1973, having completed his CA exams in 1972. He has a special interest in small business development and has extensive experience in tax issues and entity structures. He has a large extended family and many interests. Tennis is still a passion.

John Boone CA

Director

John joined the firm in 1967 and became a partner in 1975. He worked fulltime and completed the professional qualification by attending the Waikato Technical Institute in Hamilton. John has a strong interest in accounting for the rural sector and small to medium family sized businesses. John is married to Alison, a local property consultant, and they have two adult children, Stuart and Nicholas. John’s outside interests include standard bred harness racing and watching most sports.

John Landers CA

Director

John joined Shannon Wrigley & Co in 1976 and became a partner in 1982. He commenced study in Wellington and completed his ACA in Hamilton. Main interests include helping clients develop and improve their businesses. Most of John's clients are Commercial or Industrial. Family includes three adult children and other interests include fishing, tennis and working with timber.

Grant Calvert BBS, CA

Director

Grant joined the firm in October 1984 and became a partner in 1990. He studied business at Massey University in Palmerston North graduating with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 1986. He completed his Chartered Accountancy qualifications in 1987. Grant specialises in farm accounting, trust and succession issues and small to medium sized businesses. Grant and Maureen have two children, Ben and Kasey. His other interests include travelling, watching the children's sports and spending time at the beach.

Martyn Steffert BMS, CA

Director

Martyn was the latest director appointed in April 2007. He has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and completed his CA qualification in 2005. Martyn was brought up on a dairy farm which provides a good understanding on farm accounting entities. He also has experience with small to medium sized entities. He is very active outside work with sports and is kept busy trying to keep up with his three sons.

Christine Stevenson

Business Manager

Christine (Chris) joined the practice in the new position of Business Manager in April 2010. Chris has over 25 years experience in administration and finance, including 2 years as Finance Manager at Sport Waikato,18 years as Office Manager for The Cambridge Childcare Centre Trust and 4 years at McCaw Lewis Chapman Solicitors. Chris has lived in Cambridge for over 25 years. She is married to Craig and they have 2 young adult sons, Daniel and Jarred. She has many interests outside of work including socialising with family and friends, sport, fitness and music.

Jon Broadley MBE, MBA (AS), DipTPM (UK)

Business Advisory Services Manager

Jon joined the firm as the first Business Advisory Services Manager in June 2007. Prior to this he ran a Specialist Engineering Services Company in Hamilton for 2.5 years following a 22 year career in the NZ Army. Jon has travelled and studied widely. He completed a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Transportation Planning and Management at Cranfield University in the UK. He has an extensive strategic and operational planning background and has led organisations up to 475 people strong here in NZ and smaller groups on operational tours to the Middle East, Yugoslavia and Asia. Jon is married to Janet and they have two daughters. In his free time he enjoys reading, all sports particularly golf, a glass or three of good wine and he has retained contact with the NZ Army through his continued service in the Territorial Force.

David Faville BMS (Hons), CA

Senior Accounting Manager

David joined Shannon Wrigley & Co in April 2011 after working for international accountancy firm Deloitte for 4 years.  Whilst at Deloitte he specialised in small to medium sized business accounting and advisory and brings with him an extensive knowledge of accounting software packages and systems.He has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the Waikato Institute of Technology and completed his CA qualifications in 2010. David and his partner Carla had their first child, Georgia Rose,  in early June 2011 thus some of his many sporting interests including rugby, indoor netball, touch rugby, business house cricket, mountain biking and skiing have had to be rained in.

Kim Antonio BMS (Hons), CA

Senior Accountant/Tax Specialist

Kim joined the firm in February 2005 after working for international accountancy firm Ernst & Young for several years as a taxation specialist for entrepreneurial businesses. Kim grew up on a dairy farm in Northland and manages many of Grants farming clients and larger groups of entities. She has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and achieved her degree with first class honours. Kim is passionate about horse racing and breeding and has interests in various thoroughbred horses. Kim is married to Brad Ward.

Anne Bland

Client Payroll Manger

Anne is the Payroll Manager at Shannon Wrigley & Co Ltd and she enjoys looking after the payroll requirements of many small to large businesses. Her role in the support services team also includes critiquing and finalising clients' financial statements. Anne joined the company in November 2004 and has since completed her NZ Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resources. She loves living rurally at Monavale with her husband and two high school aged kids.

Jacqui Strange

Banklink/Database Administrator

Jacqui began her employment with Shannon Wrigley & Co in 1995 when she returned to work from raising her children. Prior to this she worked for BNZ Cambridge & Hamilton branches and also spent two years in Australia.

Jacqui has taken on various roles since May 1995. She presently enjoys her role as Database administrator and helping clients with the BankLink programme. Jacqui has an immense amount of knowledge of the practice, a lot of which she has been gained over the years when required to backup  other staff members. Now living “home alone” with her husband, John, she enjoys, gardening, quilting and various other crafts.

Sharon Barnett

Accounting Team

Sharon first joined the firm as a school leaver and worked at Shannon Wrigley for 6 years before travelling overseas.  On her return from overseas, she completed a National Certificate in Business Studies. She is married and has three school age children.  Sharon rejoined the firm in 2006, working in John Boone's team.

Maree Craig

Accounting/Payroll Team

Maree joined the firm in 2000 and deals with both farm accounting and payroll administration including legislative issues.

Nicki Davis BMS GradDipAcc, CA

Accountant

Nicki joined the firm in October 2000. She has completed a Bachelor of Management Studies degree at Waikato University and a Graduate Diploma of Accountancy at Waikato Polytechnic. She completed her CA qualification in 2011. Her work experience includes accounting for small businesses, companies and Trusts. Her interests include tramping, badminton, the gym, movies, reading and the internet.

Lea de Rooy BMS (Hons)

Accounting Team

Lea joined the team at Shannon Wrigley in April 2011.  Lea brings comprehensive administrative experience gained in previous roles to enhance her accounting functions at Shannon Wrigley.  Lea has a first class honours degree in Management Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Waikato.  She has a keen interest in art and music, and enjoys spending time with her family and Labrador, Bayley.

Carolyn Eriksen

Accounting Team

Carolyn joined the firm in 2003. Before coming to Cambridge she lived in Wanganui on a hill country sheep and cattle station for 20 years and has lived in Australia. She has worked in accountancy for 15 years and has knowledge of client accounting in the commercial and farming areas.
Carolyn has 2 adult daughters, two grandchildren and a variety of interests.

Jamie Fisher BCA Dip Prof Accounting

Accounting Team

Jamie has moved from Papamoa to join Shannon Wrigley after spending four years in Wellington completing his Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting. He is currently working in Grant's team. Outside of work he enjoys playing tennis and watching sports.

Raewyn Garrett

Accounting /Admin Team

Raewyn joined the firm in May 2004.  She and her husband Tim are Dairy Farmers from Roto-o-Rangi.  Raewyn’s interests are squash, a passion shared with her and Tim’s two children, Michelle and Shaun.

Angela George

Accounting Team

Angela joined the firm in April 1996 and works for John Boone. She is married and has three adult sons.

Helen Howlett

Accounting Team

Helen joined the firm in May 2004 and works in John Lander's Team. She emigrated to New Zealand from the UK in 1997 and has lived in Cambridge since arriving. Helen has a BSc Hons degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter and worked for several years in the UK as an auditor for the International firm Coopers Deloitte. She is married to Jim and they have two teenage children Sam and Lucy. Helen enjoys keeping fit, travelling and photography.

Kirsty Johnson BMS

Accounting Team

Kirsty joined team at Shannon Wrigley & Co in October 2010 after working for a local Cambridge Chartered Accounting practice for the previous three years. She has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. Kirsty is involved with the compliance aspects of our business where she is responsible for preparing annual accounts, tax returns and GST returns. She has varied knowledge of client accounting software packages. Kirsty enjoys the great outdoors but on those rainy days at home, gets her creativity flowing with scrapbooking and cardmaking.

Katie Jones

Accounting Team

Katie joined the firm in October 2006.  She has completed the Diploma in Accounting through the Open Polytechnic. Her major passion is her horses and she enjoys competing in eventing and show jumping.

Chris Knopp

Officer Assistant

Chris joined Shannon Wrigley in 2003 as Office Assistant. She is married with 3 adult daughters and has 7 grandchildren. Chris’ interests outside of work are renovating and gardening.

Carolyn Lawrence

Admin/Payroll Team

Carolyn joined the practice in February 2007.  Prior to this she worked at Inland Revenue for 8 years. She is married to Paul and they have 2 daughters. In her spare time Carolyn loves to exercise, read and coach netball.

Katie Norvall BACH Business Science (HONS) SA

Accounting Team

Katie was born and raised in Zimbabwe and completed her  Honours Degree in Business Science at the University of Cape Town.  Whilst on her OE  she ended up in New Zealand  and 7 years later  is  still here.  Katie has been with Shannon Wrigley for 3 years, working for Grant and  is currently completing  her  exams to become a CA.  Kate has always been involved with horses and has   started coaching gymnastics during the season at the Cambridge Club.

Sherry Powell

Tax Administrator

Sherry has been employed at Shannon Wrigley since April 1996. She is known as “The Tax Lady” as her primary job is filing tax returns but she also files Company returns and assists with invoicing. Previous to this Sherry and her husband, Allan, were Sheep and Beef Farmers, farming a 620 acre property just outside of Cambridge before selling up and moving to town. Sherry’s interests are travelling, reading, music, watching Allan play lawn bowls and fine wine. She has been married for 40 years and has 3 fabulous sons, 2 mighty grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter.

Marie Putt

Receptionist

Marie joined Shannon Wrigley as receptionist in April 2005. She has 4 adult children and 6 grandchildren. Marie’s outside interests include walking, wine and her family.
